Apolline Lamoril is an artist who creates installations and publications, in which photographic prints, documents, and symbolic objects conjoin in order to question what pertains to narrativity in images.

Her work reveals motifs and themes connected to literature and art history within anecdotal events or places not directly associated to these fields.

She starts her methodical investigations by collecting materials in a limited geographical space, based on coincidences she observes. Her approach is different from the work of a detective or a journalist because of the questionable nature of the clues she gathers and the fictional character of the narratives she establishes.

The association of collected materials explores formal and thematic analogies, thus merging different registers and producing a disturbed discourse around the original anecdote.

In addition to her work as an artist, she is a curator. She considers curating as an extension of her artistic practice, in which she tries to make elements with different shapes and potentialities coexist together.
